why HI exists
The workforce wasn't built for everyone.

Nine-to-five. Full-time contracts. Onsite roles. The assumption that if you can't show up that way, you're not serious. That model is leaving some of the best people out; experienced, senior, capable professionals who have something to offer but don't fit the mould.

We know. Because we're two of them.

Jacque left a director-level role she was proud of to move countries for her daughter, born with a severe brain injury. Eva is a solo mother and a late-diagnosed neurodivergent professional, ready for a career change out of clinical and patient facing roles - who discovered, like so many others, that the traditional workplace isn't designed for everyone.

We looked for the right fit. The senior flexible roles weren't there. And we refused to believe the only option was school hours admin, cleaning or starting over at the bottom.

So we built HI. To solve our own problem and to prove that a flexible model works.

That senior professionals who need to work differently can still do exceptional work. That flexibility and ambition aren't in conflict. That there is another way - for us, and for every parent, carer or person told that serious work requires total availability.

We want HI to be the proof. And as we grow, we want to create real opportunities for others like us - maybe even a tech solution to help. Watch this space.

We're also here because we genuinely care about these sectors. Both of our children navigate health and disability systems every day. We know what it feels like when the system falls short. And we know what it feels like when it gets it right.

We want more of that. For our children. For the next generation.

The health and disability sector is full of innovators doing genuinely important work - organisations with vision but not always the capacity to deliver it. That's where HI comes in. Not just as a business, but as people personally invested in seeing this sector improve.

We're here to stand up. We're open to where this journey takes us.

We want to challenge a traditional workplace model that isn't working and help build a health and disability sector worthy of the next generation.
That's why HI exists.
