Families of young children with developmental delays or disabilities often begin their journey feeling overwhelmed, isolated and unsure where to turn.

At Early Connections, we are creating a place where families can feel supported from the very beginning.

We provide community-based programs for children aged 0–5 years and their parents/carers, combining developmental support for children with connection, education and peer support for families and carers.

Our goal is simple:
To help children thrive by supporting the people around them.
What we do

Early Connections delivers weekly group sessions with structured, play-based developmental activities for children complementing a child's existing therapy programme and help families and support workers build confidence, connection and practical skills in everyday life.

Our Story

Early Connections is created from lived experience.  When Jacque's first daughter was born, her life changed in a way she never expected.  Navigating the early stages of raising a child with disabilities was lonely and overwhelming.  The appointments, the uncertainty, the challenges to do typical activities, the pressure to do everything "right" - she was isolated and exhausted.

Her life began to change when she started to meet people who got and finally started to get the right support.

When Jacque's and Christine (Support Worker and Accredited Exercise Physiologist) met,  Jacque and Christine started talking about the gaps they could see and the pressure placed on families to carry everything alone.

We believe great support workers can change lives.

When support workers understand therapy goals and know how to embed them into everyday routines, it helps children progress without adding more pressure to families.

That is why Early Connections is about more than therapy.

It is about:

  • Belonging

  • Community

  • Parent Confidence

  • Skilled support workers

  • Real-world support

  • Better outcomes for children and families

Our Vision

We want Early Connections to grow into a trusted place where families can come for support, guidance and connection - based on real understanding.

In the future, we hope to expand into:

  • Parent education and coaching

  • Therapy-informed support worker training

  • Early family navigation support - medical, NDIS and community supports

  • Support coordination - medical, NDIS and community supports

  • Community events and workshops

  • Technology and practical solutions for families

This is just the beginning.

When families are supported early, children have the best chance to thrive.
